Authentic Interiors – Making your home work for you and the way you live

Making the most of your interior space is an important element of ensuring your home works for you. Your home has the potential to be a reflection of how you live, to be a space that makes you happy, and to create a comfortable and soothing environment.

Before any redesign, refresh, or seasonal change, spending some time in self reflection can create a big pay-off in ensuring your space supports your personal lifestyle. Think about how you respond to material, colors, and shapes. Do you like texture, or smooth surfaces? Do you like a quiet house? Are you a sofa person or a chair person? What colors make you happy? Do you have personal items that are meaningful and give you joy? Let’s find ways to incorporate these features into your home.

Are you looking for ways your home can be soothing or energizing, or both? Do you like a house that is organized?

Is there space in your home which is just not functioning well for you or is unused at its current purpose? It’s time to think out of the box! Why not transform a room to a new and different purpose, or create a design that allows the room to be used for multiple purposes (flexibility is the name of the game!)? For example, imagine a seldom-used formal Dining Room being lined with built-in bookcases and a drop-leaf table tucked up against the wall next to comfortable seats. Voila! Now you’ve got a space that supports both reading, working and dining as you wish.

If you are up for a little more involved project, remodeling also allows you to add your personal touch and customization to your home. Examples are: converting an unused closet space to make a walk-in pantry, a built-in desk or a bar. An unused attic is wonderful to convert into a sewing and craft room. The possibilities are endless.

Your house should be authentically YOU, as an authentic home allows you to live, rest, explore, recharge, and reflect in ways that meet your needs and help you grow. Let us know how we can help you make your home reach its highest potential!
